Many many years ago, before the time of HTML5 and CSS3 being the standard, I found the love of blogging and journaling. Through chaotic learning and experiences, I found myself creating themes and templates with no rhyme or reason other than to learn and be awed by what can be done. The first time I found the true wonder of CSS was when I came across CSS Zen Garden. I dove right into the codes and studied it to understand the entire concept of being able to make something look completely different with just CSS.

The birth of an idea for a Wordpress theme came about during the time I was studying front-end design. Back then, I had limited hobbies, but I was very involved with them. Outside of school, the only thing I did were watching cartoon/anime and played video games, with the occasional socializing that I needed to do. I wanted to create a blog that had different styles based on topics and different design based on the game or cartoon that I would blog about. I knew nothing of PHP back then and learning those through docs were difficult.

Fast forward a little. I ended up with a career in the same path I had interest in, but I dove into my working life and left my hobbies behind outside of playing video games. I'm a gamer always and will always be, so cartoon slowly left my hobby to time-to-time entertainment.

Fast forward a lot. Life gave me lemons—a family, and here I am, now with the same project still in my mind, unfinished, but never dead. I've picked up a lot of other hobbies throughout my years of living and currently dipping my ink into writing. I came across a whole range of blog sites that are simple, straightforward, and fluff-less. That was all I needed, but the spark for my once goal of a project reignited. I looked at all the different blog sites and what they offer. Ultimately, Bear Blog looked to be the one that is the best choice to help me make my idea come true. This post is the first to help me get there, but only time will tell if I'd be able to do such a feat. For now, it's still just an idea and concept, believed to be doable, and something for me to strive toward. I truly hope Bear is where it's at so I don't have to look somewhere else for this project, because this is still a hobby, one where I'd like to put my time into and come out with enjoyment without time constrain.
